Bradbury and Bradbury
Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpapers; the premier resource for those seeking to create a vintage atmosphere in their historic homes. Specializing in 19th and 20th century wallpapers, reproducing historic patterns and also reinterpreting them with alternate colorings to offer clients as many choices as possible.
When Bruce Bradbury started the company back in 1979, those who wanted to recreate the fanciful interiors from the last quarter of the 19th century had little, if any, choice. In response, Bruce created the now-legendary line of roomsets that has set the standard for Victorian interiors for over two decades, simultaneously inspiring the rebirth of the art wallpaper industry and helping to make color and pattern fashionable once again.
As interest in the restoration of houses of a more recent vintage has grown, we've moved forward into the Arts and Crafts, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern eras, and have actively expanded our line to include several new collections that focus on these periods.
Bradbury and BradburyWhether it's an 1880s Italianate or a 1950s split-level, we have the papers to recreate the interior in all of its glory!

Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpapers was founded in 1979 by Bruce Bradbury with the mission of rediscovering and recreating the best in historic wallpaper design.
An important goal of our company has always been to make fine hand-printed art wallpapers affordable to the historic homeowner by making our papers available directly by mail order.

Though most of our papers are used in historic residences, our work has included installations for major museum exhibits, and reproductions of historic patterns for state, federal and international historic preservation projects. Our designs have been seen in countless sets for movies and television, and we maintain a close relationship with the hospitality and entertainment industry giants.

Our lead designer, Steve Bauer, took over the company in 2005, and has begun to extend our range of wallpaper styles further into the 20th century, beginning with a collection of dazzling designs from the Art Deco period.
Inspiration and Research
Inspired initially by the brilliant work of Victorian designer/craftsman William Morris, we began by reproducing and reinterpreting some of his most popular wallpaper patterns. We also drew inspiration from other luminaries of 19th century design such as Walter Crane, P.B. Wight, and Christopher Dresser.

Our research into the world of Victorian design led to the historic reintroduction of Victorian wallpaper "roomsets": elaborate combinations of coordinating patterns for both walls and ceilings. Our collection of printed wainscots (dados), friezes, borders, and ceiling decorations remains unique. The elaborate ornamentation of ceilings has always been a company specialty, and we provide custom ceiling design to artfully coordinate our patterns to fit each room.
In the early 1990s, after a decade of research on original bungalow interiors, we released America's first collection of designs for the Arts & Crafts revival, intended for historic properties built between 1900 and 1920.
While we continue to add to our popular Victorian and Arts & Crafts collections, our current research is concentrated on signature designs from the post-war years, with the goal of providing our customers a full range of historic design options, stretching from the 1860s to the 1960s.Frank Lloyd Wright
